Raleigh Murder Rates Double In 2002

RALEIGH, N.C. — The capital city is set to close the books on a violent year.
In 2002, Raleigh reported 21 murders, up from 11 murders in 2001. Of those murders, 16 involved a shooting and 15 cases involved victims under the age of 30.
