RALEIGH, N.C. — A man many people in the Triangle used to wake up to, and a longtime member of the WRAL-TV 5 family, died early Tuesday.
"Uncle Paul" Montgomery had been in declining health for a number of years. He hosted the "Uncle Paul Show" from 1961-1981.
Montgomery was a noted jazz musician and composer. He is survived by his wife, Camilla and two daughters.
"Uncle Paul" was 78 years old.
