Police Make Arrest In Shooting Near N.C. State

RALEIGH, N.C. — The suspect in a deadly shooting near N.C. State is now in police custody.

Raleigh Police picked up George Sutton at his grandmother's house Saturday after he called them.

Officers charged Sutton with the murder of Everett Drayton last Monday night.

Drayton was killed in a neighborhood near Hillsborough Street. Police say an argument triggered the deadly shooting.

Sutton's first court appearance is Monday.

According to police, Drayton was found dead of a gunshot wound around 7 p.m. in the front yard of a home near the intersection of Brooks and Clark Avenues, off Hillsborough Street.
