RALEIGH, N.C. — The Gator Bowl announced Friday that all tickets to the Jan. 1, 2003, game between No. 17 North Carolina State and No. 9 Notre Dame, have been sold.

This marks the second consecutive year the New Year's Day Bowl game has been sold out.

"The response for tickets has been overwhelming, and the city of Jacksonville is extremely pumped up for this year's matchup between N.C. State and Notre Dame," said Gator Bowl Chair Susan Hamilton.

The first game played between the Fighting Irish and the Wolfpack will be televised by NBC at 12:30 p.m. on New Year's Day.

N.C. State has sold 26,500 tickets through its athletic ticket office.
