DURHAM, N.C. — What Durham police originally thought was a traffic accident could be a murder.
A car ran off the road on Walton Street Monday night and crashed into a tree. When officers arrived at the scene, they expected to file an accident report. But they discovered that the driver, Johnathan Horton, was dead of an apparent gunshot to the head.
Police said they have no motive and haven't made any arrests. They are asking anyone with possible information about the case to call them.
