CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — A man is in custody after reportedly leading Cumberland County deputies on a chase through three counties in a stolen school bus Sunday night.

Deputies said they spotted the bus, which was taken from Baldwin Elementary School, on Chicken Foot Road.

Deputies said the driver, Tommy Seals led them into Robeson County, back into Cumberland County and then down Highway 87 toward Bladen County.

Seals continued down a road under construction in Cumberland County where the bus got stuck. Deputies said Seals jumped out of the bus and led authorities on a foot chase before being caught.

Seals was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, injury to county property and felony eluding.
