Suspect In Bank Robbery Arrested; Another Bank Robbed

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police arrested one bank-robbery suspect and started the search for another on Tuesday.

Charlene Lee, 34, was taken into custody without incident around 8 p.m. at Six Forks Road and Lynn Road. She was wanted for the Nov. 22 robbery of the First Fidelity Bank at 5712 Creedmoor Road - the ninth bank robbery in Wake County in the past three weeks.

Police said that Lee went to the bank to open an account. After about an hour in the bank, Lee told a teller it was a holdup.

Meanwhile, police were busy investigating the 10th bank robbery.

The Fidelity Bank in Cary was robbed at gunpoint just after 11 Tuesday morning.

Police believe the suspect in the robbery is the same man who held up a Bank of America last week.

The North Carolina Bankers Association is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
