Durham Man Wanted On Murder Charges Turns Himself In

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — James Antonio Generette, 27, turned himself in Friday at the Durham County Magistrate's Office to face two murder charges.

Generette, whose last known address was 110 West Geer Street in Durham, is charged with last week's killing of 73-year-old William Harston and his 68-year-old wife, Clara Belle, at their home in Blairs, Va. He also was wanted on local charges, including simple affray and two counts of failure to appear in court on earlier charges.

Accompanied by his attorney, Generette turned himself in to Durham Police Investigator V.P. Bynum, who persuaded Generette to give himself up.

Generette was being held in Durham County Jail without bond Friday night, pending extradition to Pittsylvania County, Va.
