RALEIGH, N.C. — A Republican legislator is crying foul because a supporter of Gov. Mike Easley may be paid to manage millions in state investments.
Rep. Art Pope is upset because Easley supporter John Crumpler may be part of a team paid to manage $30 million in investments for the
Golden Leaf Foundation
.
The foundation oversees the state's $2.3 billion tobacco settlement.
Pope says he wants to know how much money Crumpler and others would make from the deal.
