<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close lanes on Interstate 85 North at Duke Street in Durham.

The closings will take place on Friday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 27 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The department will intermittently close the ramp accessing I-85 North from Duke Street in 30-minute intervals.

During the closings, motorists needing to access I-85 North from Duke Street can use the following alternate routes:

<li>              Traveling south on Duke Street:  Take Gregson Street to Club Boulevard to Guess Road to I-85 North.</li><li>              Traveling north on Duke Street:  Take Club Boulevard to Guess Road to I-85 North</li>

The department will also close I-85 at Duke Street for 30-minute intervals from midnight to 6 a.m. Officials say the closings are necessary to continue improving I-85.
