KENLY, N.C. — North Johnston High School in Kenly was locked down late Tuesday afternoon in response to a bomb threat.
A championship volleyball tournament and other after-school activities were going on at the time. Officials said the entire building was evacuated.
Johnston County sheriff's deputies searched the school and the surrounding areas. Authorities later determined the building was empty and secure.
Authorities conducted another search early Wednesday morning before students arrived. They did not find anything suspicious.
