CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The man accused of trying to kidnap a Chapel Hill girl is out of jail.
Derek Jones was released and ordered to live with his mother in Cary. Last spring, police say Jones tried to snatch a fifth-grader from Frank Porter Graham Elementary School.
The girl managed to get away. Jones' case is set to go to trial next month.
