Power Restored To Durham Customers

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke Power restored to as many as 1,300 customers after a large tree fell, knocking out power early Wednesday morning.

Officials said the tree fell across 1906 University Drive in front of Forest Hills Shopping Center around 3:30 a.m. The tree took down a utility pole, a transformer and power lines.

The tree blocked a section of University Drive, causing morning traffic hassles as well.
