Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools To Hold Redistricting Hearing Tuesday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools

has scheduled a public hearing Tuesday evening to discuss the district's plans to redraw school attendance lines.

The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Smith Middle School.

Parents have the opportunity to comment before the adjustment of school attendance lines for elementary, middle and high schools are decided.

The district plans to open a new elementary school at Meadowmont next August.

Redistricting committee

members are also looking to balance the student population at two high schools until a third is built in 2005.

Public hearings are also scheduled for Nov. 13 in Town Hall chambers and Dec. 3 at Smith Middle School. The meetings start at 7 p.m.
