Police Investigate Assault, Robbery At Durham Food Lion

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are searching for suspects who attacked two women outside a Food Lion Thursday morning.

Authorities say two employees were waiting for the store, located on 2930 W. Main St., to open at 6 a.m. when they were approached by three men wearing ski masks.

Police said a third man, who was armed with a gun, approached the second employee, who was sitting in her car, and demanded her keys. Authorities said the men then fled in the employee's 1994 black, four-door Nissan Maxima with tinted windows. The car's North Carolina license plate number is PVN-3734.

The man who was armed with the gun is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build and a dark complexion. He was dressed in black clothing.

A second suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a green sweat shirt and blue jeans. The third suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark green pullover jacket and brown boots. Two of the suspects were wearing gloves.

The victim was taken to the hospital. Her name and condition have not yet been released.
