DURHAM, N.C. — A one-time candidate for Durham police chief will not submit a second application for the job.
According to the
Durham Herald-Sun
, William Carcara, the current police chief in Jefferson County, Ky., will not reapply to be the Bull City's new police chief. According to the newspaper, Carcara said, "there's too much water under the bridge."
City Manager Marcia Connor gave Carcara the chance to be chief shortly after Greg Watkins stepped down, but Carcara dropped out because he was also being interviewed in Sarasota, Fla., for a similar position.
However, someone else was hired for that position.
