<b>LUMBERTON, N.C.</b> — A Lumberton teenager is in police custody, charged with killing his elderly neighbor.

Police said  72-year-old Erma Hester was found stabbed to death inside her home Monday night.  Investigators said she had been robbed.

Danny Lewis, 16, was picked up after neighbors told police they saw him in the neighborhood around the time of the murder.Investigators said Lewis confessed to the crime.

Lewis is charged with first-degree murder.
