Vigil Held For Missing Hope Mills Man

Posted Updated

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Family and friends gathered in Hope Mills over the weekend to share memories of a man who has been missing for months.

Five months after

Kent Jacobs

disappeared, members of the community gathered at his family's home to show he has not been forgotten.

Jacobs, who is mentally challenged, disappeared March 10 after taking a walk near his parent's home.

His mother is convinced someone knows what happened to her son.

"Right now I'm ready for anything, good or bad, but I will not give up hope that he's not alive," Martha Jacobs said.

Earlier this month, Cumberland County investigators decided to classify Jacobs' disappearance as a murder. So far, no one has been arrested.
