RALEIGH, N.C. — Get ready for a higher natural gas bill.
Monday, the North Carolina Utilities Commision granted PSNC Energy an increase of
14 cents per therm
.
That raises the price per therm from 67 cents to 81 cents.
The 21 percent increase translates to about $110 a year for most year-round residential customers.
The rate increase starts with the July bill.
PSNC said prices have been going up all spring, and it kept rates low as long as possible.
