RALEIGH, N.C. — There is a happy ending for a Wake County family who has been desperately searching for their lost dog.
Merlin had been missing for two weeks. He ran away after the kennel he was staying at accidentally gave him to the wrong person. When the DiNardo family came to pick up Merlin from the Swift Creek Animal Hospital, they were given a dog named Merlee.
The DiNardos had been searching for their dog ever since and Friday, they received a call from someone saying they found their dog.
Merlin was found wandering around Chatham County. His owners took him to the veterinarian who said the dog lost 8 pounds, but besides that he is in great shape.
