CHAPEL HILL, NC — About 40 people who work at a Chapel Hill post office reported feeling sick after smelling an odd odor Friday morning.
Workers at the Timberlyne post office began complaining of watery eyes, nausea, and headaches around 8 a.m.
Haz-mat teams used a special kit to rule out pesticides and other chemicals.
Emergency personnel discovered the smell actually came from a package of clothing and a pepper spray dispenser.
The post office was closed for about 2 hours, until employees were allowed back inside.
