RALEIGH, N.C. — The Wake County School board has
reevaluated a plan
to move an alternative school next to a magnet elementary.
Longview School
is an alternative center that serves students who have discipline issues or have been in trouble with the law.
The school system wanted to move it to property it already owns across from
Joyner Elementary
. However, parents from the magnet school objected.
The school system now plans to put portable classrooms on Longview's current site in Raleigh School while the campus is undergoing renovation.
