Police Make Arrest In Clayton Dog Cruelty Case

Posted Updated

CLAYTON, N.C. — Police have made an arrest in a Clayton dog abuse case.

Lucky and Dexter, two pit bull mixes, were taken from an animal shelter over the weekend. Police found them, but they were barely alive.

Because of their injuries, authorities believe the animals were used in a dog fight.

Police have charged Andre Darden with animal cruelty and theft. There is no word on whether there will be any other arrests.
