Eighth-Grader Suspended For Writing Threatening Letter

Posted Updated

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — An eighth-grader has been suspended for writing a threatening letter found at South Edgecombe Middle School.

Sheriff James Knight said the State Bureau of Investigation has matched the letter to the student's handwriting sample.

The note was found in a bathroom at the school. It apparently contained threats against the principal, teachers and students.

The student could also face criminal charges.
