Former Durham Parking Manager Charged With Embezzlement

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — The money trail from Durham's Parking Enforcement Unit has led to one of its former workers.

Police arrested Chuckie Pettiford Monday afternoon and charged him with two counts of embezzlement. Police said that more charges could be filed.

Pettiford, who was the manager of the Parking Enforcement Unit, resigned on Thursday. He had been with the department since March 1998.

He is the latest in a string of employees to leave City Hall because of questionable finances.
