More People Turn To Feng Shui To Help Decorate Home

Posted Updated

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — It is the time of year when people are making resolutions and setting goals to be healthier, richer and happier. A local Feng Shui consultant claims she can help all that happen for you by making changes in the space where you live.

Katie Weber

is not a decorator, but she can help design your home. She is a Feng Shui consultant. Weber uses a compass to figure out what parts of your home align with parts of your life.

"The points of the compass point to different areas of your life such as health, wealth or business," she said.

Weber says understanding how to arrange these spaces can make your life harmonious.

Weber helped John Hicks and his wife decorate their new home in Fuquay-Varina. She says bathrooms in the center of the house are a drain on finances, so she convinced the Hicks to paint their's red.

"It also adds more of the fire element, which will increase income," Weber said.

"As soon as I painted it, the next day, my wife made two sales in one day and she hardly ever does that, so we were very excited about the bedroom," Hicks said. "Whatever makes you feel better about yourself is the big thing."

According to Feng Shui, the bedroom is one of the most important places in the home. There should not be a computer, a treadmill or TV -- anything to distract you from the primary purposes of the room: rest and romance.

"I really believe in Feng Shui -- that it does help you feel better about your living areas," Hicks said.
