Durham Autoparts Maker Announces Expansion

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham's economy received a major shot in the arm Tuesday when AW North Carolina, a Japanese autoparts maker, announced its expansion plans.

The company will double the size of its plant in the Treyburn Corporate Park, making a $160 million investment in the community and adding nearly 450 jobs.

The company hopes to start construction in the spring.

AW North Carolina first moved to Durham in 1998.
