Manufactured Housing Industry Wants Raleigh To Relax Restrictions

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — It is not "where" you live, but what you live in that is starting a battle in the city of Raleigh.

The manufactured housing industry wants Raleigh to relax restrictions to allow these type of homes throughout the city.

The proposed rule change would prohibit metal siding or metal roofs, require front porches, concrete foundation, walls and a pitched roof.

The public hearing on the zoning change is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Raleigh City Council Chambers.
