HOPE MILLS, N.C. — A Cumberland County man who lives with 63 animals is about to lose them, at least for a little while.
A judge has ordered that the animals be taken out of Charles Hudson's care until the matter can be settled in court. A neighbor's complaint sparked an investigation in September into animal neglect at Hudson's home.
Hudson had more than a dozen dogs, two dozen chickens and various other animals, including a horse and a mule. Many of the animals were malnourished.
