MAXTON — The Robeson County Health Department said that three more cases of

E. coli

have been confirmed in connection with an outbreak at a Maxton elementary school.

A total of 14 cases are now linked to

Prospect Elementary School

.

Officials said that 13 of those cases involve children; two of those children did not attend the school. Three children remain hospitalized.

Over 50 individuals had shown symptoms, prompting the need for the tests.
