The lights are going up at the home of Mary and Ira Gaines, but they are not the ones doing it. The work is being done while he is at work and she is taking care of the kids.
"We don't have storage facilities for all the lights they're putting up and my husband hates heights and I don't have the time to do it," Mary said.
The Gaineses decided to call a professional, Christmas Decor. The company will design your display, decorate your house, service it if any lights go out, and that is not all.
"We come back in January, take it all down, refurbish it, store it and bring it back the next year," said Scott Wood of Christmas Decor.
The goal is to make your life easier during one of the busiest times of the year.
"I think that just eliminates that for them -- the frustration of the shopping and putting up the Christmas lights, so we just take that one frustration out of the loop," Wood said.
The price is not cheap -- $1,000 on average, but many homeowners feel it is worth it.
"The ladder that they use to get up to the second story is a couple hundred dollars and I can't store it, so yes, I think it's well worth it," Mary said. "Hopefully tonight when the sun goes down, we'll flip these little guys on and it's just going to transform it into a little bit of a miracle."
At Christmas Decor, you buy the lights and decorations the first year. The next year, the installation is about half-price. The number for Christmas Decor is (919) 877-0498.
