WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — An ammonia leak at a Wayne County chicken farm sent 14 people to the hospital overnight.
The incident occurred around midnight on Sunday. The assistant emergency services coordinator for the county says the leak came from a cooling unit at Case Farms in Dudley.
Officials say everyone is OK. Emergency workers say the leak is under control and no longer poses a threat.
