Speed Humps In Raleigh Neighborhood Hindering Firefighters

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh's fire chief claims slowing down speeders is slowing emergency response times.

Chief Earl Fowler says speed humps in the Brentwood neighborhood are slowing down firetrucks by a minute or more. He says that in an emergency, that minute could make a big difference.

Fowler also says the humps are damaging the frames of the firetrucks.

The Raleigh City Council will discuss the matter next week.
