CVS To Close Henderson Distribution Plant

Posted Updated

HENDERSON — Drug store chain

CVS

has announced that it will close its Vance County distribution center, affecting 160 full- and part-time employees.

The closing damages an already fragile economy in Vance County, which has a 10 percent unemployment rate.

Employees will get severance packages and the chance to relocate to other distribution centers.

The closing is part of a larger cost-cutting move at CVS, which will also close 200 of its stores nationwide.
