RALEIGH, N.C. — A mother concerned about her daughter's health has brought about change in the Wake County school system.
Amy Barrington says a plug-in air freshener in her daughter's classroom made her ill. The freshener was removed, but Barrington went further, pressing the school system to adopt guidelines for all schools. Her persistance paid off.
A letter went out last month to all Wake County principals that states the use of air fresheners should be limited.
