Kid-Painted Tiles To Beautify Mall, Benefit Duke Children's Hospital

Posted Updated

DURHAM — Durham's new Southpoint Mall is still months away from opening, but children throughout the Triangle are already working on the decor.

Children are painting ceramic tiles for fun and to raise money. Duke Children's Hospital and

Mix 101.5 WRAL-FM

are selling blank tiles for children to paint.

The tiles will be displayed in the food court at the mall.

"Each year, Duke Children's Hospital provides millions of dollars of unreimbursed care to children. The money raised from events like this are critical to our ability to provide these services to our patients and the families," says Dr. Thomas Kinney of Duke Children's Hospital.

Tiles can be purchased for painting at Duke Children's Hospital or at WRAL-FM for a minimum of $50.
