Smithfield police searching for 'armed and dangerous' 17-year-old charged in Monday shooting

Police are searching for two people, including a 17-year-old boy, on Tuesday after they say the two shot someone the day before in Smithfield.

According to the Smithfield Police Department, two people, one of whom was later identified as Zayvion Boone, 17, drove up to Kay Drive in a black Ford Fusion and fired multiple shots.

Police told WRAL News the person who was shot was not the intended target of Boone and the other person, and is at the hospital in “stable” condition.

The Ford Fusion was later recovered in Selma, and police say their investigation is active and more arrests are pending.
