Silo fire burns at soybean processing plant near Fayetteville

Crews from across Cumberland County responded to a Wednesday night silo fire at the Cargill Ag soybean crush facility on River Road near Fayetteville. 

The fire broke out at the six-story silo around 10 p.m.

Firefighters said a mechanical issue caused a fire in the base of the conveyor that takes soybeans to the top of the silo.

Nobody was hurt responding to the fire.
