WRAL News interviewed the Coquette employee who survived a deadly shooting Friday inside the popular restaurant in North Hills.
Jonathan Aguilar survived the shooting but said his coworker, Jonathan Schaffer, was killed.

Aguilar, an employee of Coquette, confirmed the suspected shooter was George Colom, the restaurant's executive chef. Police said the suspected shooter turned the gun on himself after killing another man. He is currently in critical condition.
Earlier in the day, Sky 5 captured footage of the police presence at the scene of the Coquette restaurant. According to police, the shooting happened inside the restaurant following an argument between two men who knew each other.
Aguilar described the moments before he and his coworker were shot.
"We were having our daily meeting before the shift began. One of our employees had brought in a cake to celebrate a bartender's birthday. She was cutting the cake, and moments later, I was shot," he said.
The motive of the shooting remains unclear.
"No one there had any reason to hate him or dislike him or have anything personal against him. Not to my knowledge," Aguilar said.
Heather Young is another server at the restaurant.
She said she didn’t know the shooter well and saw no signs that something like this could happen.
Aguilar showed WRAL News his injuries saying, "There's a bullet still lodged in my hand here."
