When they arrived, officers found Dasean Banks dead outside the store. A second man, Anthony Shearin, was found inside the store with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in Greenville where he later died.
Police initially charged a third man, Ju-Quan Letrae Rawles, with obstruction of justice for his actions after the shooting. On Friday, police added and obtained two additional warrants on Rawles for two counts of murder.
Preliminary investigation found that Shearin and Banks allegedly had an altercation the night before.
Banks, who was accompanied by Rawles, confronted Shearin at the store Wednesday and that was the start of the deadly altercation. Police added that Shearin was in possession of a stolen firearm at the time of the shooting.
Police said that Rawles shot Shearin in response to the altercation with Banks. In the process of shooting Shearin, Rawles also shot and killed Banks.
This case remains under investigation by the RRPD.
