Pedestrian killed, driver injured in two separate Raleigh crashes

A man was killed and a driver was injured in two separate crashes Saturday night in Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, police responded to a call for a pedestrian hit by a car around 6:50 p.m. on Falls of Neuse Road and Quail Ridge Road. When they arrived, they found a man injured by a vehicle.

Police said the man was taken to the hospital, where he later died. 

About 10 minutes after the crash on Falls of Neuse Road, police said a pickup truck carrying tires crashed into the side of another vehicle on Capital Boulevard near Highwoods Boulevard.

Police said the driver of the car that was hit was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Both investigations are ongoing.
