Fuquay-Varina names new town manager

Jonathan R. Barlow will take over the job on April 1.

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — The Fuquay-Varina Board of Commissioners named its new town manager on Tuesday night.

Jonathan R. Barlow will take over the job on April 1.

The North Carolina State University graduate has more than 15 years as a town manager. He was previously the city manager for Roxboro for the past five years.

“Jon brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Fuquay-Varina. The board was impressed with his deep understanding of Fuquay-Varina’s opportunities and challenges and his well-reasoned approaches to working on town issues. Jon has a well-established reputation as a person of intellect and integrity, and we look forward to working with him on major initiatives for Fuquay-Varina,” Fuquay-Varina Mayor John W. Byrne said in a statement.
