FAIRMONT, N.C. — A former political candidate in Robeson County has been charged with voting early and voting often.

A grand jury indicted John Jackson, who ran for mayor of Fairmont, with voter fraud. Investigators said he voted for himself twice – once in early voting and once on election day.

Jackson faces less than a year in prison if he's convicted. He hasn't commented publicly on the case.
