Clintons return to Tar Heel State

The Clinton family will be campaigning in the Tar Heel State this weekend, campaign officials said Thursday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Clinton family will be campaigning in the Tar Heel State this weekend, campaign officials said Thursday.

On Friday, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will attend a Solutions for America campaign event at 9 a.m. at John Deere Sales and Service, 1291 Hwy 258 North in Kinston.

At 12:15 p.m. Clinton will hold a Get out the Vote event at Henderson County Courthouse on the corner of N. Main Street and E. 1st St. in Hendersonville. At 3:30 p.m. Clinton will attend another voting event at Guildford College’s Ragan Brown Field House Gym, 5800 West Friendly Ave. in Greensboro.

Clinton will speak at the North Carolina Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at 8 p.m. held at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds’ J.S. Dorton Arena, 1025 Blue Ridge Blvd. in Raleigh.

Clinton's opponent for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, will also speak at the event.

She wraps up the night at a Get out the Vote event at 9 p.m. at Trinity Road Farm, 4224 Trinity Road in Raleigh.

Chelsea Clinton will also be campaigning for her mother during events on Friday. At 2:30 p.m., she attends an event at Salem College’s Clewel Patio, 601 S. Church Street in Winston-Salem. She will then attend an event at 4:45 p.m. in Lexington. No specific information was released for the Lexington event.

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton starts the day at 8:39 a.m. at a town hall meeting at Cary High School, 638 Walnut St., in Cary.

At 10 a.m. she will attend a Get out the Vote event at Wake Forest College Birthplace Museum, 414 N. Main St. in Wake Forest.

She will attend a campaign event at 1:30 p.m. at the Rotary Centennial Pavilion, 100 N. South St. in Gastonia and finish her North Carolina trip at 3:30 p.m. at the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame, 119 Knob Hill Road in Mooresville.

Hillary Clinton leaves the state for a campaign event with John Mellencamp Saturday night, but her husband former President Bill Clinton will represent the campaign with events on Sunday in Marion, Morganton, Lenior, Hickory and Reidsville. He will also attend events on Monday in Elizabeth City, New Bern, Jacksonville, Roxboro, Henderson, Louisburg, Zebulon, Smithfield and Raleigh.

Specific locations and times were not available Thursday night.
