Man on e-scooter killed during hit-and-run crash on Gorman Street in Raleigh

A man was killed early Sunday morning in an electric scooter crash on Gorman Street in Raleigh.

The crash was reported around 4 a.m. on Gorman Street near Kaplan Drive.

Raleigh police said Pierre-Louis de Mourgues, 23, was riding an e-scooter on Gorman Street when a vehicle struck him from behind and dragged him down the road.

Mourgues was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are searching for the driver, who fled the scene.
