A Person County commissioner faces multiple charges including domestic violence.

According to court documents, Tracy Ellixson was charged Wednesday with communicating threats after telling his wife that he was going to kill her, assault by pointing a gun at his wife, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and false imprisonment.

The Person County Board of Commissioners is aware of the charges against Ellixson, Person County Manager Katherine Cathey told WRAL News, but cannot comment at this time.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is handling the investigation.

Ellixson’s first court appearance is scheduled for May 1.
