Crews have contained a fire that broke out Wednesday in Orange County.
Crews were called around 4:30 p.m. to the fire in Carrboro on Seawell School Road. The land is owned by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When crews arrived, they found a fire in the woods south of Seawell Elementary School.

A part of Seawell School was closed for hours as crews worked to put out the flames. It was fully contained late Wednesday.
Officials said there were no injuries and the cause is still unknown. The North Carolina Forest Service remained on the scene overnight and into Thursday as hot spots continued to smolder.
Area residents should expect smoky conditions for several days.
