Man dead after crash in Roxboro

One person is dead after a crash in Roxboro on Saturday.

Roxboro police said officers were called to reports of a crash around 4:15 p.m. on Hurdle Mills Road. When they arrived, officers said they found 65-year-old James Richmond dead.

Witnesses on the scene told police Richmond’s vehicle went off the right side of the road, hit an unoccupied parked car before crossing the roadway and hitting an embankment.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Police ask anyone with information to call Roxboro police at 336-322-6072.
