FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man added $680,000 to his retirement fund April 9 when his Powerball ticket matched five white balls in the multi-state lottery drawing.

“I’m retired already,” said Morell Whitehead. “Now I’m going to be retired retired. Retired in style.”

Whitehead purchased a $2 ticket at Ms. Sudy’s on Clinton Road and won a pre-tax $1 million.
