North Raleigh shelter assists cat owners following tornado

Raleigh, N.C. — Following Saturday's tornado, a north Raleigh shelter is offering free assistance to Wake County cat owners.
SAFE Haven for Cats, a no-kill shelter at 8431-137 Garvey Drive, is offering temporary shelter for cats or kittens, cat food, kitty litter and supplies such as carriers, kitty litter boxes, food bowls and bedding.
The group is also offering residents the use of humane traps in case their cats are on the loose and assistance with transportation of cats to the shelter, if needed.
